How does the "Gift Certificate" option work? TOP

Add your name, the recipient's e-mail address, and the name of the recipient. Please choose a $ amount for the gift certificate. Click on the "Order" button and you will be taken to the shopping cart. For shipping option, please choose "Gift Certificates". The shipping is Free, but the option must be chosen in order to go further. The Gift Certificate will either be e-mailed or if you prefer it to be snail-mailed, please give additional address information in Checkout area.

I'm concerned about security; how can I be sure my credit card information is secure? TOP

Here at Starry Night Creations we definitely understand your concern about security. The shopping cart used on this site is Mal's e-commerce and it's a secure cart using 128-bit SSL.

You are offered three ways to pay for your purchase: 1) Credit Card, 2) PayPal or 3) Check/Money Order. Because your Credit Card information is added using the shopping cart mentioned above, it is transacted using the highest level of security available. PayPal is also covered by the 128-bit SSL using Verisign.

If you choose to pay by Check/Money Order, once I receive your check/mo & deposit, the check needs to clear before I can ship your item(s); approximately 7 days. If you're in a hurry, this is not the option to choose.

What are my Shipping Options? TOP

If you live in the U.S., your glass jewelry can be shipped either First Class or Priority Mail. Other non-jewelry glass item(s) are shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail (Insurance included). If you'd like to purchase Insurance for the First Class Mail delivery, please indicate such when checking out; you will be invoiced separately through PayPal for the additional amount.

If you live overseas (Canada, Australia, UK, etc.), your glass jewelry is shipped via the US Postal Service Priority Mail International. Please choose this option when asked for your "Shipping Preference" (pull down box). If U.S. Priority Mail is chosen, your package will not ship until payment is made for the balance of the shipping, and you will be notified. The minimum cost for Priority Mail International shipping up to 1 lb. is:

$10.95 - Canada & Mexico
$12.95 - All Other Countries.

If multiple glass items are purchased & package weighs over 1 lb., the cost for shipping can be:

$19.00+ - Canada & Mexico
$26.50+ - All Other Countries

Sales tax is charged to FL residents.

I dropped my pendant and it broke; can it be fixed? TOP

The glass may be glued together temporarily with the E6000 adhesive. It may be possible to create a similar pendant, depending on the glass inventory. Please contact Susan for further information & return instructions.

What IS “dichroic glass” anyway? TOP
“Dichroic” means “two colors” due to the mercurial nature of using precious metals with glass. It is a special crafted glass that reflects and transmits two different colors. Glass is coated & textured thinly using precious metals & earth elements such as gold, copper, silver, titanium, chromium, or aluminum. It is extremely difficult to capture colors exactly and there can be a range of up to 30% from one value to another. Dichroic glass is also difficult to photograph well as the colors tend to change in different light and angles. You will probably notice this with the lighter colored pieces, such as light lavender & white.

What happens if the silver/gold bail or earring post comes off? TOP
In time, this can happen. The bails/posts are applied with E6000 adhesive, this is an adhesive that works well adhering glass to other objects. This tube can be found in craft stores such as JoAnn Fabrics, Michaels, even hardware stores. Be careful... a little goes a long way!

I want to go swimming with my pendant; is this o.k.? TOP

As is usual in South Florida, the ability to go swimming with jewelry is desireable. However, the pendant should not be worn while swimming in chlorinated water and especially salt water (the bays, ocean). The adhesive used on the bail can deteriorate very quickly, and your pendant will be lost!

Also, if you purchase a piece on which the dichroic is “exposed” meaning not under a clear glass overlay, the salt water can also deteriorate the exposed dichroic over time. The pendant will last a very long time if it is not exposed to the above elements.

What if I don’t like my purchase or it’s not what I expected? TOP

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, within 7 days of receipt, please contact Susan regarding an exchange or refund. Your happiness with your purchase is very important to me; I will do everything I can to ensure you are happy.

Please keep the packaging & wrap the piece securely in the packing as you found it. When returning the piece, insure the package for the full value.

How do I clean my sterling silver ring? TOP

A sterling silver polish cloth or liquid cleaner can be used to clean your sterling silver rings, sterling silver wire & hooks, and posts. The liquid cleaner will not hurt the glass; however excessive liquid cleaning is not recommended due to the chemicals.

For this reason, use of a polish cloth is highly recommended as the ease of use & low mess is very attractive! Purchase of a Sterling Silver Polish Cloth can be obtained in the "Accessories" area.

How is my dichroic glass jewelry or larger items shipped? TOP

Your jewelry is shipped in a small gift "star" organza bag with a card detailing the creation process & care instructions. The other glass items are packaged securely and also include a card detailing the creation process & care.

These items are then carefully wrapped in bubbles and enclosed in either a padded envelope or a box insuring a safe & unbreakable passage.

Can I return a piece I purchased on *Sale*? TOP
No, sorry... if you purchased a pendant/ring/earrings on *Sale* or at a *Sale* price (Was $25.00, now $15.00), the piece(s) are not returnable for exchange or $ back. All sales are final on *Sale* Items.
